4- BNP Plod back on the beat.

I turned on the radio this morning to hear the news that a policeman who's name was on that infamous BNP membership list is back at work today. Without having to explain how his name wound up there.

Police officers are banned under the legally-binding 2003 Police Regulations from membership of the BNP, the National Front and Combat 18. By just not revealing how his name appeared on the list, Police Constable Cutting is allowed back. How very lovely.

Its funny that in this PC world that a PC who is a BNP member is allowed back on the streets to fight crime, and is therefore assumed to have no prejudices or racial ( or otherwise ) biases. Awwww, how very, very lovely.

I went here to get more information, while I was trying to pick my jaw up.

"The Met confirmed that Pc Cutting had been cleared to return to work and said that a full investigation had found "no evidence to prove" that he was a member of the BNP.

A spokesman added that the matter had also been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

In a statement, the Met added: "On 21 November 2008 two serving Metropolitan police officers were suspended following the publication, on the internet, of a membership list for the British National Party. One of these officers was a full-time police constable and the other a volunteer special police constable." - thisislondon.com

My jaw did not return to its normal position ( not on the floor) for quite some time...

Wooooo, well done Met, well done. Obviously I hope it was just a complete mistake/mystery/mishap that this guys name appeared on that list, but it seems more that unlikely don't ya think?

It's a mad, mad world.
